Serie A and La Liga European Football Leagues: Title Predictions for 2018/19

With the FIFA World Cup firmly behind us, football pundits are now hard at work dusting off their crystal balls.  What all live football betting fans want to know is which teams will dominate the La Liga and Serie A in 2018/19.  History tells us it’s the ‘big fish’ that usually come out tops… and by all accounts history is about to repeat itself with one or two exceptions.

If you want to experience a rapid heart rate and heightened excitement while watching premier European football, we recommend you place a few wagers on the side.  Having said that we believe it’s our duty to offer you a few tips as to who we think will claim the glory in the Spanish and Italian top flight!

Serie A

Serie A Title Predictions for 2018/19

Defending champions Juventus have tightened their stranglehold on the league with a multi-million Euro signing of Christiano Ronaldo.  With the superstar in their corner the black and whites under Massimiliano Allegri will be a tough proposition indeed… home and away.

If all things go to plan Juventus will win their eighth consecutive league title and their 35th overall.  Ronaldo isn’t the only new face in the squad.  Allegri made the most of the summer transfer window and included a few notable additions to the team.  We’ll have to wait and see how right-back Joao Cancelo, right winger Douglas Costa and centre-back Leonardo Bonucci impact the title fortunes of the Italian heavyweights.

Unfortunately, African football fans will have to make do with a Juventus squad that has no representatives from the continent.  Paul Udoh of Nigeria is out on loan and is now plying his trade at Fano.

Who will give Juventus a run for their money?  Internazionale of course.  Although the Nerazzurri only came 4th on the league table last season, manager Luciano Spalletti has been working hard with his men.  Fans can expect a more disciplined side with a bolstered midfield thanks to the inclusion of Radja Nainggolan and Lautaro Martinez into the squad.

La Liga

la Liga: Title Predictions for 2018/19

Last season’s champions Barcelona are expected to tip the scales in their favour yet again.  If successful, the big guns of Italian football will claim their 26th league title.  With luminaries like Lionel Messi headlining the action, it’s almost a dead cert Barca will prevail again in 2018/19.

To add fuel to the fire, manager Ernesto Valverde has brought a few precociously talented young lads to Camp Nou.  Defender Clement Lenglet will give Valverde a few more options to play around with in defence, while Arthur Melo is expected to strengthen the midfield.  The standout new signing is however Brazilian winger Malcolm De Oliviera, a man widely tipped to replace Messi someday in the future.  Malcom’s creativity and speed have already seen him score eight goals in 23 appearances for French club Bordeaux.  With one of the best footballers on the planet as his role model and guide, the sky really is the limit for the 24-year-old winger.

Although Barcelona is the red-hot favourite, we believe it may be a tight run race with Real Madrid coming in a close second.  Los Blancos may only have come third last season but you can bet your bottom dollar they’ll better that result this season.

Manager Julen Lopetegui has come up with a few excellent new signings that include Brazilian wonder child Rodrygo Goes.  The 17-year-old scored five goals in 16 appearances for Santos.  Will he be able to neutralise the Messi effect when the two giants meet head-to-head?  We’ll have to wait and see!
