Celta Vigo will look to stay in the fight for European contention when they lock horns with out-of-sorts Valencia at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan on Monday, January 12.
The Sky Blues went unbeaten in December and they kicked off the new year in style with a 4-1 victory over Valencia on January 3 - their biggest win of the season.
Claudio Giraldez's side had bounced back from a disappointing 0-0 draw against relegation-threatened Real Oviedo in December to register their third win in four games.
Celta (7th) were able to close within two points of Real Betis, who occupy the final European berth in sixth place, but suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat at the hands of Real Madrid on January 4.

The Palanganas have blown hot and cold this term, never winning more than two matches on the spin and they've dropped into the bottom half of the table after losing 10 of their opening 18 fixtures - the same amount as Levante (19th) and Real Oviedo (20th).
Matias Almeyda's side ended 2025 with a 2-0 loss to Los Blancos on December 20 and their new year started even more disappointingly after being beaten 3-0 by the struggling Frogs on January 4.
The Andalusian outfit are in danger of being sucked into the relegation quagmire as they're just one point ahead of Osasuna (12th), Alaves (13th) and Rayo Vallecano (14th), and only two clear of Real Sociedad (15th), Real Mallorca (16th) and Girona (17th).
Almeyda admitted that Levante were more clinical in front of goal, while Isaac Romero's missed penalty at the death was an indication that it was a bad day at the office for Sevilla.
"We didn't start well, but we eventually got back into the game. We started playing, but we lacked aggression, possession and the composure to avoid mistakes," he said.
"We could have scored, but we lacked penetration. The goal they scored was a result of our naive defending. After changing our system, we had them pinned back in their half, but we couldn't even convert a penalty. We have to keep pushing and look inward.
"The penalty miss shows that nothing was going right. They were clinical, scoring three goals from five shots. We're lacking that clinical finishing and also that attacking edge that we didn't have today to turn things around."
