After a goal-laden draw with Juventus in Serie A last time out, AS Roma will now turn their attention to an away tie against Genoa who are likewise hoping to get back inside the winning column.
Genoa are in 15th place heading into Matchday 28, with 27 points after 27 matches played — a league record that includes 6 wins, 9 draws and 12 defeats so far. Speaking after Roma’s draw with Juve, coach Gian Piero Gasperini urged his side not to throw in the towel during an open chase for a European spot for next season.
“We have to try again. We mustn’t try different things; that’s not what we need,” Gasperini said.
“Of course, had we won and been seven points ahead of Juventus and the other teams behind us, it would’ve been a huge step forward, but we’re still in it.
“We’re still in this competition. We played an extraordinary game and we mustn’t let this result get us down.”
