Levante coach Luis Castro has vowed to give his all to the club amid a rocky 2025/26 La Liga campaign as they prepare to host Girona on Saturday evening.

After ending a five-match winless streak in the league, Levante returned to winning ways last Friday after a 2-0 win over Alaves. Prior to the game against Alaves, Levante previously tasted victory on 23 January with a 3-2 win over Elche on home soil.

Levante ended the previous game week in 19th position on 21 points, following a run of four losses and one win in their last five games. More alarmingly, Levante find themselves five points from safety ahead of matchday 27.

Sitting in 12th place, Girona suffered a 2-1 loss against Celta Vigo in their most recent league assignment and remained on 30 points after 26 games.

Girona endured a rocky spell in recent weeks and recorded one win, two draws and two defeats in their last five La Liga fixtures.

Much like that of Levante, Girona are likewise susceptible to a relegation place and are only six points away from the drop zone.

With Levante claiming just their fifth victory all season last week, coach Luis Castro believes his side can stay in the division provided they emulate the performance they put on against Alaves on a consistent basis.

"We're going to fight for every point. In the matches we've lost, we haven't been far behind our opponents. I think it's possible, that's why I came to Levante. I, the staff, and the players are going to give our all for the club," Castro said.

"We need to get points, and three is better. The team gave their all, and when you give that, you're closer to winning. In the first half, we were solid defensively, but offensively we were losing possession, and that's unacceptable.

“At halftime, we said there was still time to win, that we had to do things right. We were anxious and giving away easy balls. In the second half, it was our own merit to win the match."
