Germany are unbeaten at home in the ongoing qualifiers, having registered a win over Iceland in their only game that was played on their home soil so far.

Meanwhile, Azerbaijan were held to a 0-0 draw by Ukraine at home on 9 September as they stretched their winless run to two matches in the World Cup qualifiers.

Azerbaijan, on the other hand, have named a 26-man squad that is headlined by Germany-based striker Mahir Emreli, but experienced forward Ramil Sheydayev has been excluded.

Quotes

"There are always injuries before the squad list is announced, and there can be some after as well," France head coach Didier Deschamps said when confirming that Kylian Mbappe is an injury concern.

"I don’t have any further information at the moment since the players are due to arrive around 4 p.m. We’ll assess the situation then. Regardless of the player or the club he comes from, he had a minor issue.

"But nothing prohibitive—otherwise he wouldn’t be here today."

Head-to-Head

France hammered Azerbaijan 10-0 in the 1996 UEFA Euro Qualifier played at the Stade de l'Abbe Deschamps in Auxerre in September 1995.

The Blues have the upper hand in their rivalry against the National Team, having won both of their previous meetings.
