Inter Milan could make it three victories on the spin in
Serie A this weekend when the Italian giants take on Cremonese at the iconic San Siro grounds on Saturday.
During matchday five this past Saturday, Inter Milan recorded a 2-0 win against Cagliari at the Unipol Domus Stadium and in turn, moved up to fifth on the log.
Inter’s latest win came off the back of a 2-1 victory against Sassuolo in matchday four, which ended a two-match losing streak against Udinese and Juventus respectively.
Cristian Chivu’s men have now racked up nine points in the season so far and will hope to challenge for the Serie A title once more.
Speaking after Inter’s win against Cagliari, coach Cristian Chivu mentioned that their opponents forced them to ‘suffer’ en-route to bagging maximum points.
“There’s also the opponent who can put you in difficulty,” Chivu said.
“They changed their system and surprised us. We had prepared differently, but the principles stayed the same.
“We managed to unlock it early, but we didn’t kill it off.
“They gained courage and put on attackers, so there was a bit of suffering.
“In the end we managed it, we’re happy with the performance and the victory.”
Cremonese are unbeaten in the league so far, after bagging two wins and three draws in their first handful of matches.
While they commenced their campaign with wins against AC Milan and Sassuolo, Cremonese then recorded three consecutive stalemates, witha 1-1 result against Como being the latest.
As it stands, Cremonese are in seventh place, with nine points to their name after five games.
