After an impressive outing at the British MotoGP earlier this month, Spanish Trackhouse rider Raul Fernadez will have his eyes fixed on lifting another trophy this weekend as a former winner on the circuit.
Fernandez is a one-time winner at MoterLand Aragon following his Moto2 class win in 2021 after he famously crossed the line with a fractured right hand.
Five years later, Fernandez currently sits in sixth position on the 2026 rider’s standings with 184 points after claiming top spot at the British MotoGP on 9 August.
In addition to his Silverstone win, Fernandez has taken the podium four times this season and secured pole position on two occasions.
Speaking after his win at Silverstone, Fernandez claimed that he battled through adversity during the race, particularly as he managed his tires and fuel with aplomb.
“It wasn’t an easy race, we had to manage the rear tire and the fuel really well, but we did a great job, especially because when I saw that I had a four second gap to the second rider, I managed,” Fernandez said.
“Jorge Martin caught three, four tenths and in the next lap I was back at my four second gap. I’m proud of that because I could manage it as I wanted on a track that, in the past, I didn’t get a good result yet, so now I can say it’s a good track for me.
“Anyway, I’m happy and I think the team helped me a lot to change this frustration yesterday into motivation.”
