The Cottagers snapped a 12-game winless run with a 2-0 win at Everton last weekend. Josh Maja scored both goals for Fulham who face Burnley at Turf Moor on Wednesday, before welcoming the Blades to Craven Cottage.

"Large parts of the performance have happened over the course of the last 15-odd games, the difference is we have managed to score a couple of goals and win the game," said Fulham manager Scott Parker following their win on Merseyside.

"That has always given me belief. Overall I thought we were fantastic from start to finish against a very good Everton, we did very well to nullify them.

"I've always had a feeling I understand it has to change and the reason I say that is because of what I am seeing. You (the media) analyse it as win-loss-draw but I analyse it deeper than that and we are creating big chances. If we keep doing the right things and it will change."

Sheffield head into Saturday's match bottom of the league standings, having suffered a fresh blow in their hopes of survival. The Blades lost 3-0 at West Ham United on Monday evening to remain 14 points off 17th spot and safety.

“We create chances. We don’t take them. We make mistakes. We get punished. It epitomises the past five months or so," said Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder.

“This is not a shape issue. It’s not a tactical thing. It is straightforward things that are costing us. We had more possession than them, but they (West Ham) don’t make mistakes.”

"It’s a big setback for us, there’s no doubt about it. We’ve got to pick ourselves up, because we don’t have the fans here to lift us. We’ve had terrific support from them but, with some of these results, that’s probably going to be wearing thin and we have to take that criticism on the chin.”

The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture at Bramall Lane earlier this season. Ademola Lookman handed Fulham a late lead before Billy Sharp levelled matters from the penalty spot.
