The Detroit Pistons and the Indiana Pacers will have an NBA Regular Season battle at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan on the morning of Saturday 5 March 2022. Tip-off is at 01:00.
The Pistons have endured a nightmare season and are simply looking to salvage some pride between now and the end of the Regular Season. In order for that to happen on a consistent basis, Detroit will need Jerami Grant to be at his best.

“Jerami was that guy taking us down the stretch. He made some big, big hoops and some great cuts to the basket,” Detroit coach Dwane Casey said. “It was a big-time performance by Jerami.”
He added, “I’m proud of the way we competed. I loved the togetherness that we had. We were connected. Guys put their words into action. A lot of times we all talk about stuff but there’s no action. So, they really came through."
The Pacers have fared better than the Pistons, but they are also unlikely to see any kind of post-season action. Nonetheless, they are building for the future and will hope for more blockbuster performances from promising young guard Tyrese Haliburton.
“Being such a young player, they can kind of groom him as their own, and so I think if there's any positive, it's this happening so early in his career that he can go build there and build as Indiana's own, although he wasn't technically drafted there,” said Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green of Haliburton, having been impressed by the 22-year-old is the recent All Star showcase.
In head-to-head stats, the Pistons and the Pacers have met in 203 Regular Season games since 1976-76, with Indiana claiming 105 wins compared to 98 for Detroit. The teams’ last Regular Season meeting was in December 2021, with the Pacers winning 122-113 at home thanks to 31 points from Caris LeVert.
