Sassuolo, Roma & Lazio in race for Serie A top four

Lazio will be away to Benevento in an Italian Serie A match at the Stadio Ciro Vigorito on December 15.
 
The Eagles recorded their second defeat in their last three matches in this competition when they lost 2-1 to Hellas Verona in their previous game.
 
Lazio, who are placed ninth on the Serie A table, will take a Benevento side which is coming off a 1-0 defeat to Sassuolo in their previous match.
 
The last Serie A meeting between Lazio and Benevento ended in a 6-2 win for the former in a match which was played in March 2018.

Simone Inzaghi, the Lazio manager, has urged his troops to focus on their encounter against Benevento after the defeat to Verona. 
 
"In three days we will be back on the pitch, we have to get up again," Inzaghi said.

Meanwhile, Sassuolo will travel to the Stadio Artemio Franchi where they will face Fiorentina in a league match on December 16.
 
Sassuolo are undefeated in their last two matches in this competition after securing a 1-0 win over Benevento and they are placed fifth on the league standings.

They will be up against a Fiorentina side which was thrashed 3-0 by Atalanta in their previous match.
 
Sassuolo emerged 3-1 winners over Fiorentina in the last Serie A meeting between the two teams which was in July 2020.
 
Meanwhile, AS Roma are set to welcome Torino in a league encounter at Stadion Olimpico on December 17.
 
Roma, who are placed sixth on the Serie A table, are undefeated in their last two matches this competition as they thumped Bologna 5-1 in their last game in the league.
 
They will lock horns with a Torino side which succumbed to a 3-2 defeat to Udinese in their previous match.
 
The last league meeting between Roma and Torino was in July 2020 and the former secured a 3-2 victory.
