Southampton moved back up to fifth spot on the league standings following a 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday evening. The Saints have been one of the surprise packages of the season thus far and head into this coming weekend's round of fixtures four points behind the league leaders.

In contrast, Sheffield United have yet to win this season and head into matchday 12 having conjured a mere point from their allotted fixtures.

The Blades have subsequently made the worst start by any club to a Premier League campaign and travel down to the St Mary's Stadium on a six-game losing streak, following a 2-1 loss to Leicester City last time out.

"If players want to stay in this division then they have to make better decisions," United manager Chris Wilder told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"We're all worried because we care about results and performances. We're in this position for a reason.

"We are a losing team at the moment and I am the manager of a losing team. Whether it is cruel or deserved, we have to make the right decisions. If we make the right decisions we get something from the game against a really decent team."

The corresponding fixture last season ended in a 3-1 win for the hosts. The Blades opened the scoring and held a narrow lead at the break but Southampton hit back with goals from Che Adams (two) and Danny Ings.
