Jordan Spieth will be determined to end his two-year trophy drought on the PGA Tour by winning the
Valero Texas Open for the second time.

The American star has won 16 professional tournaments since he turned pro in 2012 and he is a former number-one amateur in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
Spieth is a three-time major winner having won the 2015 Masters, 2015 US Open and 2017 The Open Championship, while also being crowned 2015 FedEx Cup champion.

The 30-year-old took a short break after taking part in the 2024 Valspar Championship in Florida, USA where he missed the cut.
Spieth is placed 19th in the Official World Golf Rankings and his best overall ranking is 1st place which he achieved for the first time in 2015.

The Dallas-born golfer has a decent record at the Valero Texas Open having finished second in 2015 when he was playing some of his best golf.
Spieth was then crowned Valero Texas Open champion in 2021 when won with rounds of 67-70-67-66, to end a 1,351-day spell without a victory.

“If you told me eight under at the beginning of the day I would have thought Chris [Kirk] probably betters six under," Spieth said after finishing third at the 2024 Sentry Tournament of Champions which remains his best performance this season.
