2020/21 Spanish La Liga

Matchday 36

Spain
11-13 May 2021

Elche CF will be looking to ease their relegation fears when they face Deportivo Alaves in a La Liga match on May 11.

The two teams will meet at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero and it will be the 17th meeting between the two teams across all competitions since 1997.

Alaves have the upper hand having recorded seven wins compared to 19th-placed Elche's five victories, while four games ended in a draw.

However, Elche emerged 1-0 winners over Alaves in their last La Liga match on 18 October 2020 at the Estadio de Mendizorroza.

Meanwhile, Eibar will be eyeing nothing but a La Liga win when they host Real Betis at the Estadio Municipal de Ipurúa on May 13.

The two teams will be meeting for the 14th time across all competitions since 2000 and Eibar have the upper hand.

Eibar, who are placed 20th on the standings, have claimed five victories compared to Betis' three wins, while five matches ended in a stalemate.

The last meeting between the two teams ended in a 2-0 win in favour of Eibar in a La Liga game which was played at the Estadio Benito Villamarín on 30 November 2020.

Lastly, Huesca will be hoping to climb out of the relegation zone when they face Athletic Bilbao at the Estadio El Alcoraz on May 12.

The two teams will clash for the seventh time across all competitions and Bilbao boast an unbeaten record against Huesca.

Bilbao have registered four victories, while two games ended in a stalemate.

Bilbao secured a 2-0 win over Huesca in the last meeting between the two teams in a La Liga match at the Estadio San Mames on 18 December 2020.

Mikel Rico, the Bilbao manager, has urged his teammates to focus on their clash with Bilbao following their recent 2-1 defeat to Cadiz.

"The best thing is that there is no time to think, you have to analyze what has been done wrong, analyze Athletic Club and have it come on Wednesday," Rico said.

"Whatever happens, the worst that can happen to us is to stay two points away from relegation, which is one game, and there are still three games left.

"We are going to give everything and I am convinced that we are going to achieve it."
