The Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics will have an NBA Regular Season battle at the Capital One Arena in Washington D.C. on the evening of Sunday 23 January 2022. Tip-off is at 20:30.
The Wizards are mid-table in the Eastern Conference, fighting hard to put themselves in the frame for the Playoffs, though they face stiff competition from the likes of the Charlotte Hornets, Toronto Raptors and New York Knicks.

Washington need to find a strong level of consistency, with last week’s 112-106 home win over the Orlando Magic underlining their best qualities, as Kyle Kuzma racked up 19 points and helped the team perform strongly even in the absence of star man Bradley beal.
"He's [Kuzma] been able to rack up a number of very impressive performances," coach Wes Unseld said. "Just another one in the bucket."
The Celtics, meanwhile, find themselves falling off the pace of Playoff contention. Boston suffered a heavy 111-99 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers this past weekend, underlining their need to shake things up and improve going forward.

"The slow start doomed us," Boston coach Ime Udoka said. "I have to do a better job of getting our guys ready to play. They were coming off a loss and played a little harder than we did. It's on me. There wasn't much going there, so I wanted a spark from our younger guys."
In head-to-head stats, the Wizards and the Celtics have met in 313 Regular Season games since 1961-62, with Boston claiming 194 wins compared to 119 for Washington. The teams’ last Regular Season meeting was in October 2021, with the Wizards winning 115-112 at home, after overtime, thanks to 36 points from Bradley Beal.
