What to know about the 2024 Valspar Championship
The Valspar Championship was founded in 2000 as the Tampa Bay Classic - replacing the JCPenney Classic, which was held annually in central Florida since 1960.
In September 2013, Valspar Corporation signed a deal to become the title sponsor of the PGA Tour event hence the name Valspar Championship.

The 2024 Valspar Championship will be the 23rd full-field PGA Tour event sponsored by the Copperheads (General Chairs Rondé Barber and John Astrab).
The tournament will be managed by Pro Links Sports with Executive Director Hollis Cavner and Tournament Director Tracy West.
Favourites
Headlining the 2024 Valspar Championship field are Xander Schauffele, Sam Burns, Patrick Cantlay and defending champion Taylor Moore.
Sam and Moore are in the current field, along with other past Valspar Championship winners Gary Woodland (2011), Luke Donald (2012), Jordan Spieth (2015) and Adam Hadwin (2017).
What Is At Stake
The 2024 Valspar Championship purse is set for $8,4 million, with the winner's share coming in at $1,512 million.
This year, the winner will also receive 500 FedEx Cup points and a projected 50.3 world ranking points.

“This is shaping up as one of our best fields ever,” Valspar Championship tournament director Tracy West said ahead of the 2024 edition.
“At the moment, we have 10 of the top 30 and 18 of the top 50 in OWGR. And we are hopeful to be adding more in the four weeks remaining to the tournament.”
