Matchday 30

Como vs Pisa

Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia

Como, Italy

Sunday, 22 March 2026

Kick-off is at 12:30

With Como nearing toward an historic qualification to European football next season, Cesc Fabregas and his charges could make it five wins on the bounce when they face Pisa at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia on Sunday.

Como are currently fourth on the Serie A table and are largely deemed to be one of the surprise packages of the league given their enterprising brand of football under the former Arsenal midfielder.

As it stands, Como accumulated 54 points from 29 games as their 2-1 win against AS Roma last time out completed a run of four consecutive victories, which came on the back of a 1-1 draw with AC Milan on 18 February.

While Como eye Europe next season, Pisa have been submerged in a relegation scrap for much of the season in 19th position.

Pisa could only manage 18 points from 29 games so far and recorded a much-needed 3-1 win against Cagliari during Matchday 29. While their win against Cagliari was only their second victory of the campaign, Pisa went on a four-match losing streak as they sit seven points from safety.

Como’s win against Roma did not come without any controversy after AS Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini refused to shake Fabregas' hand after the match.

Reflecting on the incident, Fabregas slated the Roma boss for his actions as he believes it's common courtesy for coaches to acknowledge the result by way of shaking hands after the 90 minutes.

"Whether I'm angry, sent off, or feel the referee has wronged me, at the end of the match I always go to shake my opponent's hand,” Fabregas said.

“It's a matter of respect and sportsmanship, and I was disappointed by what happened. I repeat, even when you lose a game, you always shake the opponent's hand.

"I went to greet him as usual, and I saw him walk away. I come from a different country, and I have to get used to these things: during the game, everything is fine, and you fight, but when the match ends, for me it's over, and you always shake hands."
