NBA Regular Season

Tip-off at 02:00 CAT

The Minnesota Timberwolves will hunt an away win when they face hosts the Miami Heat in an NBA Regular Season game at the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami, Florida on the morning of Saturday 8 May 2021. Tip-off is at 02:00 CAT.

The Heat are in danger of slipping out of a Playoff qualification spot and need to keep up the level of aggression and intensity they showed in beating the Charlotte Hornets 121-111 last weekend – a game which saw Bam Adebayo return to something like his best with a haul of 20 points and 10 rebounds, as well as 18 points, eight rebound and eight assists from Jimmy Butler.

"You want to be playing your best basketball at the right time and I'm praying, I'm hoping that right now is the right time for us to begin playing our best basketball," Butler said.

The Timberwolves, meanwhile, have already been eliminated and have only pride to play for in what remains of the season. Yet if they continue to put up fighting performances such as their recent overtime 140-136 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, then they could yet upset Miami this weekend.

"It just bogged down," Minnesota coach Chris Finch said of the closing stretch in the fourth. "I think guys were just looking to do things all by themselves a little bit too much and we just got to trust the ball movement."

Karl-Anthony Towns added, "The game of basketball, we've got to treat it with respect. I think that tonight got a little too, in a way, casual at the end and it cost us. We didn't make the plays we needed to."
