World no. 6 Collin Morikawa will be hoping his back injury doesn't cause him any major discomfort at the Cadillac Championship.
The American was forced to withdraw from the Players Championship in March after hurting his lower back while taking a practice swing on the 2nd hole.
Morikawa was sidelined for three weeks before returning for the Masters, where he shot rounds of 74-69-68-68 to finish T7 despite not being at 100 per cent health.
The 29-year-old performed even better at the RBC Heritage the following week, carding a 13-under 271 to finish five strokes behind winner Matt Fitzpatrick in T4.
Morikawa won his seventh PGA Tour title at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February and went on to achieve another two top 10s at the Genesis Invitational (T7) and the Arnold Palmer Invitational (5th).
The two-time major winner admitted after his first round at Harbour Town that he was only swinging at about 50 per cent and this experience of not trusting his body is totally new to him.
"The body is probably slightly better than that," Morikawa said. "It's hard to trust the body right now. It's a very uncomfortable feeling. I had never experienced anything like it until about a month ago.
"There's just no trust, and that's the hardest thing, to say go fire at the shot when you're trying to play in a tournament because essentially for me I'm trying to last throughout the entire week.
"I feel like I'm swinging a little bit better in the motion at least, but I wouldn't say I'm putting more effort into it because, like I said, I need to be at home to say, OK let's turn up the gears.
"If I do feel a little uncomfortable, at least I'm home, I'm not trying to play a tournament where I essentially need to make it 72 holes."
Last five Cadillac Championship winners:
2016 - Adam Scott (AUS)
2015 - Dustin Johnson (USA)
2014 - Patrick Reed (USA)
2013 - Tiger Woods (USA)
2012 - Justin Rose (ENG)
