With Como being one of the biggest surprise packages of the 2025/26 Serie A season, Cesc Fabregas and his charges will hope to get their groove back when they face Genoa away on Sunday.
As Como looked well on their way to UEFA Champions League qualifications a couple of weeks ago, I Lariani were on the end of unfortunate defeats in their last two league ties.
Following a 4-3 loss against Inter Milan during matchday 32, Como followed the result with another 2-1 defeat against Sassuolo last time out.
Fifth-placed Como will enter this weekend’s fixture sitting five points from the all-important fourth position, while they noted 58 points from 33 games. Regarding their form, Como recorded two losses, two wins and one draw in their previous five league ties.
Genoa on the other hand occupy 13th on the table, with 39 points from 33 matches. Following their 2-1 win against Pisa during matchday 33, Genoa saw out three wins and two losses in their last five.

With Como’s loss to Sassuolo in mind, Fabregas mentioned that his side suffered under a team that put on a clinical display throughout the 90 minutes and that they weren’t fluid enough on the ball.
“When you lose, you always look for excuses. We apologise to the fans and congratulate Sassuolo, the coach put on a masterclass today,” Fabregas said
“We weren’t fluid, the ball was too slow and Lauriente was difficult to control. We look forward to the next one.”
