Scottie Scheffler will be eager to make his season debut with his maiden The American Express title when he tees off at the La Quinta County Club.

The American superstar had a successful amateur career, including victory at the U.S. Junior Amateur in 2013 and low-amateur honors at the 2017 U.S. Open before turning professional in 2018.
Scheffler boasts 24 professional victories including 19 PGA Tour titles and two Korn Ferry Tour wins, while also being a 2024 Olympic Games gold medalist and four-time golf major champion.

The last time the two-time Masters champion played professionally was at the 2025 Hero World Challenge in Albany, New Providence, The Bahamas, where he finished fourth.
Scheffler is currently ranked world number one in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), a position he has held for over 150 weeks.

“Most of that is just getting my strength back to a position where it was in 2024 and then making sure my body feels good for me to be able to perform throughout the course of the season and not have to kind of battle in certain events, maybe if my body’s not feeling 100 percent,” Scheffler said after he was announced as PGA Tour Player of the Year for the fourth year in a row in December 2025.
“So, using this time throughout the offseason where I’m not playing as much golf to flush out some inflammation and get some good recovery here at home just so I’m prepared to go out and play another long season.”
