Kimi Antonelli will be determined to extend his championship lead by winning the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps.

Despite the disappointing result, Antonelli showed strong qualifying pace earlier in the weekend before race-day issues affected his result.

Antonelli leads the Drivers’ Championship with 179 points after nine races, having had a breakthrough season in his Mercedes car.
The 19-year-old holds a 25-point advantage over teammate George Russell (154) and remains the clear favourite for the 2026 title.

"We had an incredible run with five races, five wins in a row and everything was probably going too much on my way," Antonelli said after his 15th-place finish at the 2026 British Grand Prix.
"We had two DNFs in three races and obviously it's tough to swallow, because Barcelona I was running P2, here I was going for the win. I think we had a real shot and I was within striking distance.
"It's a shame I didn't even have the chance to try but it is what it is. It went this way and the most important is that we bounce back stronger."
