Despite the disappointment of a DNF in Monte Carlo, Leclerc showed strong pace before the incident.

Leclerc sits fourth in the Drivers’ Championship with 75 points after six races.
The 28-year-old trails championship leader Kimi Antonelli (156), Lewis Hamilton (90) and George Russell (88), while holding a healthy margin over the McLaren drivers.

Leclerc has a decent record at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit; he has contested eight Spanish Grands Prix and scored points in five of them.
The Monegasque clinched a strong third place in the 2025 Spanish Grand Prix and has secured podium finishes in two out of six races this current season.

"Finishing my home race like this is disappointing," Leclerc said after the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix.
"I had an issue with my rear brakes in the last corner and hit the wall. The positive to take from this weekend is that we have a solution in place and will adjust the configuration of my brakes."
