Atletico Madrid will be looking to build on their first win of the
La Liga season when they head to the Balearic Islands for a clash with Real Mallorca at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix on Sunday, September 21.
Atleti manager Diego Simeone would have been feeling the pressure going into the international break after picking up just two points from his opening three matches.
Los Colchoneros opened proceedings with a 2-1 defeat to Espanyol before playing out to successive 1-1 draws against Elche and Alaves.
However, Atletico beat Villarreal 2-0 on September 13 to get their campaign up and running and they've climbed up to 11th place albeit seven points adrift of league leaders Real Madrid.
The Pirates only have one point to show for their efforts thus far and find themselves in the relegation zone alongside Levante (18th) and Girona (20th).
Following a 3-0 loss to Barcelona on the opening weekend, Jagoba Arrasate' side picked up their first point in a 1-1 draw with Celta Vigo before suffering back-to-back defeats against Los Blancos (2-1) and Espanyol (3-2).
Simeone expressed his relief at ending their winless start against the Yellow Submarine and feels it's a good pick-me-up ahead of their UEFA Champions League tie away to Liverpool on September 17.
"I experienced the same relief I have experienced for a long time, borne of the responsibility we feel for the club and the team," the Argentine said.
"I thought it was a good time to enjoy the tiny little window we get before tomorrow morning at 10am when we'll be back thinking about Liverpool."
