2025-26 Italian Serie A
Matchday 3
Atalanta v Lecce
Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia
Bergamo, Italy
Sunday, 14 September 2025
Kick-off is at 14h00
Atalanta will go in search of their first win of the 2025-26
Serie A season when they welcome Lecce to the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia on Sunday, September 14.
La Dea are still unbeaten after two rounds, although they have yet to keep a clean sheet after conceding a two in each of their first two matches.
Ivan Juric's side had to battle back from behind to earn a 1-1 draw with newly-promoted Pisa on August 24 before they squandered the lead at Parma to be held to another 1-1 stalemate.
The Bergamo outfit occupy 12th place, one point ahead of the Salentians, who have also made a winless start to the new campaign and find themselves down in 17th position.
Lecce came away from Genoa with a 0-0 draw on August 23, but they were undone by two second-half goals in a 2-0 defeat to AC Milan prior to the international break.
Eusebio Di Francesco's side last beat Atalanta in the league on 19 February 2023, having lost their next three encounters before sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw most recently in Lombardy on April 27.
Juric saw his team create several good chances against the Crusaders, but was disappointed that they weren't able to score more than just the one goal.
"It was a tough, physical match. In the end, not only did we create a lot of chances, but also carved out a more varied set of chances than against Pisa, who were very gritty with their long balls," the Croatian said.
"It's a big disappointment to concede from a free-kick from 40 meters out, but sometimes it happens and you have to take it in.
"We created so much [in both matches], hit the posts twice, had many one-on-ones with the keeper, but we couldn't find the net more."
