J.J. Spaun will the most experienced member of the United States Ryder Cup team to tee off at the
Procore Championship on Thursday, September 11.
The world No. 7 is one of 10 players on Keegan Bradley's roster who will compete in Napa, with Xander Schauffele and Bryson DeChambeau the only two absentees.
Los Angeles native Spaun has been a regular fixture in the field at Silverado and is set to make his 10th consecutive appearance in Northern California.
The 35-year-old has enjoyed a remarkable season, claiming his first Major title with victory in the US Open, while finishing second in the Players Championship and the FedEx St Jude Championship.
Spaun has gone on to achieve another two top-10 finishes and is hoping to improve on his best result of T9 on the Silverado North Course in 2020.
The American believes that reading the greens better and controlling the speed of his putter have contributed to his improvement this year.
"I'm seeing the lines much better. The speed with my putter is a lot better, so I'm not worried about mis-hitting it with the technology in the putter that I use," Spaun said.
"It always carries good speed, and speed is king when it comes to making longer putts, and it's obviously helped this year."
