AFCON Round of 16 action takes center stage

Egypt, 5-6 July 
 
Morocco are set to face Benin at the Al Salam Stadium in the first Round of 16 encounter on Friday, July 5. Kick-off is at 17h00.

The Atlas Lions of Morocco reached this stage after winning Group D, while Benin's Squirrels are one of the four best third-placed teams.
 
This will be the sixth meeting between Morocco and Benin. The Atlas Lions have recorded five victories against the Squirrels.

Uganda will then take on Senegal at the Cairo International Stadium on Friday, July 5. Kick-off is at 20h00. 
 
The Cranes of Uganda and Senegal's Lions of Teranga progressed to the knockout phase after finishing second in Group B and Group C respectively.  
 
This will be the fifth meeting between Uganda and Senegal. The Lions of Teranga have registered two wins and two games ended in a draw.

Meanwhile, Nigeria will lock horns with Cameroon in another Round of 16 match at the Alexandria Stadium on Saturday, July 6. Kick-off is at 17h00.
 
The Super Eagles of Nigeria secured their place in the knockout stage after finishing second in Group B, while Cameroon's Indomitable Lions finished as Group F runners-up.

This will be the 21st meeting between Nigeria and Cameroon. The Super Eagles have registered 11 wins compared to the Indomitable Lions' three victories and six games ended in a draw. 
 
Mohamed Salah in action for Egypt
 
Egypt will then take on South Africa at the Cairo International Stadium on Saturday, July 6. Kick-off is at 20h00. 
 
The Pharaohs of Egypt advanced to the knockout phase as Group A winners, while South Africa's Bafana Bafana are one of the four best third-placed teams.
 
This will be the 12th meeting between Egypt and South Africa. Bafana have registered six wins compared to the Pharaohs' four victories and one game ended in a draw.
