Aprilia Racing's Aleix Espargaro will be looking to build on his impressive start to the
2022 MotoGP season at the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday, May 1.
The Spaniard picked up his maiden premier-class win in the Argentine Grand Prix and secured his second podium in five races with P3 in the Portuguese Grand Prix last weekend.

Espargaro is third in the riders' standings on 66 points and trails frontrunners Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins by just three points going into the sixth round.
The 32-year-old admitted to having problems with his clutch, but he managed to gain momentum during the race and was happy to finish on the podium after Jack Miller of Ducati Lenovo Team crashed out in lap 18.

"Yeah, I'm satisfied," Espargaro said. "We have to improve the clutch. We are having some trouble with the clutch this year sincerely. We know we have to improve on that area because it's very important the first part of the race.
"But then, once I overtook Alex Marquez and [Miquel] Oliveira - it was not easy. When I had free track, I show a good pace. I was able to catch the guys in front of me. I was ready to attack them because I felt a lot stronger.
"It was a shame sincerely the mistake of Jack [Miller] but this is racing and at the end the podium is good for me. I try also to attack Johann [Zarco] but it was impossible, I had no traction, I destroyed the rear tyre, so I'm happy."
