Billy Horschel will be keen to make history when competes in the 2023 Zurich Classic of New Orleans along with his teammate Sam Burns.

What to know about Horschel and Burns

Horschel is a seven-time winner on the PGA Tour and the American star is the joint-most successful golfer in the history of the Zurich Classic.

His compatriot Burns has won five times on the PGA Tour including two Valspar Championships and Sanderson Farms Championship.

Horschel is the only player to claim both individual and team titles at the Zurich Classic and will seek an unprecedented and historic third title this week.

Burns was among the top 20 golfers at the recent 2023 RBC Heritage as the 26-year-old finished 15th at the Harbour Town Golf Links.

Meanwhile, Horschel missed the cut at the RBC Heritage which was held in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, USA.

Why are they among the favourites

Burns, who is ranked 15th on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR), will be returning to his home state, Louisiana where he will be keen to impress.

The current 2022-23 PGA Tour season has seen Burns clinched the 2023 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play title and he is now eyeing his second title of the campaign.

Ranked 27th on the OWGR, Horschel knows exactly what is needed to win the Zurich Classic title and his experience could be key to the team's victory at the TPC Louisiana.

Burns and Horschel finished as runners-up in last year's Zurich Classic and they will be determined to redeem themselves by winning the title.
