Patrick Cantlay will be looking to make history by becoming the first golfer to win the
BMW Championship three times.
What to know about Cantlay
The American star had a successful amateur career and was the number-one golfer in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for 55 weeks.
Cantlay has won eight times on the PGA Tour as well as the 2021 FedEx Cup and he is a member of the 2022 class of the UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame.
His best performance in a golf major came at the 2019 PGA Championship as he finished third.

Cantlay took part in the recent 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis, Tennessee, USA where he finished second behind champion Lucas Glover.
The 31-year-old golfer is currently placed fourth on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) and his best overall ranking is second place.

Cantlay has hit form at the right time having finished second at the St. Jude Championship and he will be confident of going one step further by retaining the BMW Championship trophy.
Furthermore, the 2021 PGA Tour Player of the Year tends to bring his A-game whenever he competes in the BMW Championship having won the last two events.
He also finished second in the 2019 edition behind Justin Thomas and he is one of the most successful golfers in the history of the tournament.

"I was fortunate to get into a playoff," Cantlay said after finishing second at the 2023 St. Jude Championship.
"I said the guns would be coming and they came and I was just the last man standing this week. I obviously made a bad tee shot and paid the price.
"I'm in a good spot and two big weeks coming up, so I'm looking forward to it. I'm obviously playing really well, and next week is a golf course that I enjoy, so looking forward to it."
