After a P4 finish at the Czechia MotoGP prior to the mid-season break, Ducati rider Francesco Bagnaia will look to bank on his past success heading into this coming weekend’s
Austrian MotoGP.
As he battled to close the gap on Marc Marquez, Marco Bezzecchi and Pedro Acosta at Brno, the Italian ultimately settled in fourth place, +3.879s behind the aforementioned rider.
Bagnaia is currently third on the rider’s standings, after accumulating 213 points so far this season. The 28-year-old last tasted victory at the USA MotoGP back in March, while he also completed seven podiums during the campaign.
Speaking about his Bike’s showing during GP25, Bagnaia expressed that it was only Marc [Marquez] who could extract the best out of the Ducati.
“It was only Marc who was able to make a difference with our Bike,” Bagnaia said.
“I don’t know why but it was difficult to ride the GP25 here and only he was able to make a difference, especially in the left turns.
“I tried to make a difference in the right ones but I couldn’t. I saw Aprilla and KTM very incisive”.
Nevertheless, Bagnaia will head into the coming race with added confidence, after claiming the Austrian MotoGP crown in 2024, 2023 and 2022 respectively.
