The recent Styrian Grand Prix was won by KTM rider Miguel Oliviera with his teammate Pol Espargano finishing third and Ducati's Jack Miller secured a second-place finish.
Binder is currently placed fourth on the riders' standings having accumulated 49 points from five races.
Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo is still placed at the top of the riders' standings ahead of Ducati riders Andrea Dovizioso and Miller.
Binder is 21 points behind Quaratarao and he will be looking to move closer to the French rider by performing well at the San Marino Grand Prix.
The Potchefstroom-born rider reflected on his performance at the Styrian Grand Prix and he indicated that he was looking forward to competing in San Marino.
“To get up to sixth was already great. I felt really, really good," Binder said.
"Unfortunately, with the red flag and the restart I didn’t make the best decision with the tyres and really struggled to stop, even running off at Turn 1, but I was able to come back to eight.”
“All-in-all we should be happy. I gave my best out there and the bike was fantastic. The team worked really well and I’m super-excited for the next race. I think we can do a good job at Misano.”
Yahama are sitting at the top of the Manufacturers' Championship standings with 88 points.
Ducati and KTM  are placed second and third with 87 and 82 points respectively on the standings.
