Five points separate 17th placed Brighton and 18th placed Fulham heading into the midweek fixture which could go a long way in deciding both teams' fate.

The Seagulls ended a nine-game run without a win with a morale-boosting 1-0 victory away to Leeds United last time out.

"Well the league table is of no real importance if you don't get points yourself because if you don't, it does not matter what the other team does or what the league table says," said Brighton manager Graham Potter.

"So, our focus has been on trying to get those points and trying to improve. We are halfway through the season now but we have to try and get better.

"There is a lot of good in this team but clearly if you don't get the wins then you are always under pressure, that is the game and the nature of the Premier League."

Fulham haven't won in eight matches since a 2-1 victory over Leicester City in late November and head to Brighton following back-to-back home defeats to Chelsea and Manchester United respectively.

The two teams played to a 0-0 draw at Craven Cottage earlier this season. Their most recent Premier League meeting at Amex Stadium ended in a 2-2 draw.
