Manchester City will battle with Manchester United in the Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg match on January 7.

The Citizens are the defending champions having won last season's tournament and they have won it six times overall.
 
They will look to their star player Raheem Sterling, who has hit the back of the net three times in this season's tournament which is also known as the EFL Cup.
 
City manager Pep Guardiola is looking to guide the Citizens to their eighth final having won the competition twice with the same club.
 
Meanwhile, United have won this competition five times and the last time they clinched was during the 2016/17 campaign.

“Paul came back after a long spell out, two games, had a reaction, and couldn't go to Burnley, as he felt his ankle was sore," Solskjaer said.

The second-leg encounter is set to be played at the Etihad Stadium on the 29th of January 2020.
 
The last meeting between United and City in the Carabao Cup was on the 26th of October 2016.
 
United secured a 1-0 victory over City in a match which was played at the Old Trafford Stadium.
