The Cavaliers have established themselves as one of the outside contenders in the East, as they jostle with the likes of the Milwaukee Bucks, Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat to become the ‘nearest chasers’ of the Brooklyn Nets. Last week saw them underline their good recent form with a 124-89 rout of the Houston Rockets.

"We're putting in the work, so we have the confidence that the ball is going to go in every time," Darius Garland, who racked up 21 points against the Rockets, said. "Our mindset all season is to play all 48 minutes. We did that tonight."
Isaac Okoro added, “To keep this streak going, that's what we're out to do. We'll keep on working and our shots will keep on falling."
The Pacers find themselves in the lower reaches of the Eastern Conference, though this past weekend saw them claim a much-needed 122-113 home win over the Detroit Pistons.

"The past couple weeks I've turned the corner with my body," said Caris LeVert, who scored 31 points against the Pistons and missed the first several games of the season with a stress fracture. "I always try to be aggressive. I had the ball in my hands more."
In head-to-head stats, the Cavaliers and the Pacers have met in 199 Regular Season games since 1976-77, with Indiana claiming 105 wins compared to 94 for Cleveland. The teams’ last Regular Season meeting was in May 2021, with the Pacers racking up a fifth straight win in the rivalry, thanks to a 111-102 away victory – featuring 25 points off the bench from Kelan Martin.
