2021/22 Premier League

England
13 August ‪2021 - 22 May 2022

The 2021/22 Premier League will enter an exciting and busy period in December as matches come thick and fast for the teams.

Betway selected the most exciting matches to look forward to in the month of December:

Leicester City will return to the Etihad Stadium for the first time since they stunned Manchester City 5-2 in a thrilling Premier League encounter in September 2020 with Jamie Vardy grabbing an impressive hat-trick.

The Citizens have looked unstoppable at times this season and their defence has been key to their great form as they have conceded the least number of goals (nine) in the competition, but it will be put to the test against the Foxes.

Free-scoring Vardy is placed second on the league's scoring charts with nine goals and the former England international will relish facing Citizens, who will be looking to keep their defence of the league title on track.

This will be Premier League title-winning manager Antonio Conte's first real test as the Tottenham Hotspur boss with his side locking horns with Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool FC at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham are undefeated under the Italian tactician and he seems to be getting the best out of Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura, who were both on the score sheet against Norwich City on December 5.

While the Spurs defence which has looked shaky this term will be up against Liverpool's world-class front three of Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane, who have been in great scoring form this term.

"I think in this moment it's more important to go game by game. I think it's very important to look at ourselves, not others," Conte said after the game against Norwich.

"The table is surely very important. I always said we want to try to stay close to the first positions. When you stay close, you can improve with work, we can improve with time, to improve many aspects with the players. And then we'll see what happens.

"Surely we need to improve, to be very good. Also to also hope that other teams can slip. 'But at the same time, we have to stay there, very close. And there's only one way to do this: to get three points."

Everton FC manager Rafael Benitez, who eased pressure on himself by masterminding a 2-1 win over Arsenal FC on December 6, will be looking to haunt his former side, Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge.

The Toffees will fancy their chances against Chelsea, who have looked beatable in recent weeks having lost to West Ham United, before drawing with Russia's Zenit St Petersburg in the UEFA Champions League.

Manager Thomas Tuchel's Blues cannot afford to drop any more points with their Premier League title rivals, Liverpool FC and Manchester City having leapfrogged them on the standings after they were stunned by West Ham.
