Thriston Lawrence is set to tee off at the
Nedbank Golf Challenge for the fourth time and will be looking to become the seventh South African to win the title.
The Nelspruit native is the highest-ranked South African in the field at No. 64 in the world, while he finished 27th in the Race to Dubai Rankings in 2025.
Lawrence achieved three top 10s on the DP World Tour this year and claimed the fifth win of his career at the Omega European Masters in August.
The 28-year-old also finished in top 10 once on the PGA Tour, placing T8 at the Rocket Classic in June, although it was a mixed season for him after missing the cut 12 times.
Lawrence, who finished T14 at the Nedbank Golf Challenge last year, is hoping to join Fulton Allem, David Frost, Ernie Els, Trevor Immelman and Branden Grace as former winners on home soil.
"This tournament is very special to me and I'm really looking forward to playing in front of our home fans and joining my fellow South Africans in hopefully claiming a home victory," he said.
