2025/26 Premier League
Matchday 18
Chelsea FC v Aston Villa
Stamford Bridge
London, England
Saturday, 27 December 2025
Kick-off is at 18h30
Chelsea FC will be looking to deny Aston Villa an eighth successive Premier League win when they clash at Stamford Bridge on 27 December.
Current Form
The Blues fought back to hold Newcastle United to a 2-2 draw away on 20 December and they are unbeaten in their last three games in the league.
Chelsea are also unbeaten in their last three home matches in the Premier League, having registered one draw and two victories at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, Villa emerged as 2-1 winners over Manchester United at home on 21 December and they are unbeaten in their last seven matches in the Premier League, winning all of them.
The Villans are also undefeated in three away matches in the Premier League, having recorded three consecutive victories as the visitors.
Team News
Chelsea have Levi Colwill, Dario Essugo, Liam Delap, Estavao Willian and Romeo Lavia on their injury list, and their teammate Mykhailo Mudryk remains suspended.
Villa, on the other hand, also do have suspension concerns, but Tyrone Mings, Ross Barkley and Pau Torres are on the Birmingham-based outfit's injury list.
The Villans will be without Evann Guessand, who is part of the Ivory Coast squad at the 2025 AFCON.
Quotes
“Of course, sometimes we can play offensively, brilliant, defensively, brilliant, individually brilliant and collectively brilliant," Villa manager Unai Emery said after his side's win over Man United.
"And we need different moments for the players, for the team, and of course, to try to share together, everything. “We are happy, and we are here, and enjoy each moment. Everything we did is done. And again, to build a new way, a new challenge we can have.
“And, of course, Merry Christmas! Enjoy with family, and we (will) see you soon, next week again in Chelsea.”
Head-to-Head
Villa secured a 2-1 win over Chelsea in their last meeting in the league, which was played at Villa Park in February 2025.
The win ended the Villans' two-match winless run in the Premier League against the Blues, who had recorded a win and a draw.
