With Bologna and Juventus fighting for a place in the European positions in
Serie A this season, the two teams will now headline a keenly anticipated duel at the Renato Dall'Ara Stadium on Sunday.
Juventus faced one of the hardest tasks of any team in Serie A this past weekend when they recorded a 2-1 loss against reigning league champions Napoli at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Sunday.
The Italian giants thus suffered their first league defeat since October and ended this weekend with a record of two wins, two draws and one loss in their last five matches.
More interestingly, Juventus also jotted down three defeats in their last five away games and currently occupy seventh place on 23 points.
Bologna likewise dropped vital points this weekend following their 1-1 stalemate with Lazio at Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.
Sitting in fifth position, Bologna are now winless in their last set of Serie A games, a run of results that came after consecutive wins against Parma, Napoli and Udinese respectively.
Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti expressed that his side struggled against Napoli last time out, more particularly against their ‘strength and quality’.
"It's true, Napoli pushed harder from the start, we were too timid to move the ball around, then lost it cheaply, so they made us run after them," Spalletti said after the match.
"They are in good shape, so if you don't keep the ball, they make you run all over the pitch with their strength and quality."
