2021/22 English Premier League

Matchday 24

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Arsenal

Molineux Stadium
Wolverhampton, England
Thursday, 10 February 2022
Kick-off is at 20h45

Arsenal will be looking to get their top-four ambitions back on track when they face Wolves in a Premier League clash at Molineux on Thursday, February 10.

Mikel Arteta's side could only manage a goalless draw against rock-bottom Burnley at the Emirates Stadium on January 23, which left them winless in their last two league outings.

The 2-1 home defeat to Manchester City prior to that arrested a four-match winning streak for the Gunners, who are sixth in the table on 36 points, two shy of fourth-placed Manchester United.

Arteta admits he is feeling the pressure due to losing players through COVID-19 recently and those participating at the Africa Cup of Nations.

"We are here to win football matches and that's the pressure," the Spaniard told the press. "We know the amount of matches that we're going to have to win if we want to be there [in the top-four].

"But you can look too far ahead, there is a lot happening in recent weeks and it's been extremely difficult to manage the squad and the team because we've lost a lot of players and we have to re-unite.

Wolves are one of the in-form teams after a 2-1 win at Brentford on January 22 extended their unbeaten run in the league to five games.

Bruno Lage's men held Chelsea to a goalless draw and beat the Red Devils 1-0 during that spell to climb up to eighth in the standings on 34 points.

Lage was delighted to kick off the New Year with a strong start and praised the mentality of his players to get the job done against the Bees.

"It is a very good start to the year. Three wins in the Premier League and one win in the cup, and we came with the right mentality to come here," the Portuguese tactician said in his post-match interview.

"We know what happened a few days ago with Man United, they play very well, they're a strong team to play at home because they play very hard, and we did it.

"Three points, good goals, I felt we controlled the game with the ball, and that's why I'm happy with my boys."
