2022/23 Italian Serie A

Matchday 21

US Salernitana v Juventus FC

Stadio Arechi
Salerno, Italy
Tuesday, 7 February 2023
Kick-off is at 20h45

US Salernitana will square off with Juventus FC in an Italian Serie A match at the Stadio Arechi on February 7.

The Garnets emerged as 2-1 winners over US Lecce away in their previous league game which was played on January 27.

The victory ended Salernitana's seven-match winless run in this competition having recorded two draws and five defeats before facing Lecce.

However, the Garnets are winless in their last four home matches in Serie A having recorded two draws and two losses at the Stadio Arechi.

Meanwhile, Juventus suffered a surprise 2-0 defeat to AC Monza at home in their previous league game which was played on January 29.

As a result, the Old Lady are winless in their last three matches in this competition having recorded two defeats and one draw.

Juventus lost to Napoli in their last match on the road in Serie A and the defeat ended their four-match unbeaten run as the visitors.

"I don't think we've ever had a first half as poor as that today. We improved after the break but we must look at those opening 45 minutes, all of us, and take responsibility for it," Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri said after their defeat to Monza.

"We came back well against Atalanta but we really are leaking too many goals. Monza found it way too easy to play their way out today. We know we've earned 38 points. However, at the moment we only have 23. That's the situation.

"We must go back to where we were before the game against Napoli – since then we haven't been totally on the ball mentally. We have to knuckle down and those who aren't up to it can sit out. We simply must get points on the board and realise the position we're in, momentarily at least."

The last meeting between Salernitana and Juventus in a league game was on 11 September 2022.

The two teams played to a 2-2 draw in a match that was played at the Allianz Stadium which was opened in September 2011.
