Espanyol will be targeting more of the same when they welcome fellow European contenders Celta Vigo to the RCDE Stadium in the early kick-off on Saturday, February 14.
The Parakeets put themselves in the frame for UEFA Champions League football after a promising first half of the season which saw them win 10 of their opening 17 matches.
But Manolo Gonzalez's side have struggled to get going in the new year, picking up just one point from their five outings prior to the clash with Villarreal on Monday, February 9.
The Catalan outfit lost three on the spin following a 2-1 defeat to Alaves on January 30 and they sat just one point above Celta in sixth place ahead of the trip to La Ceramica.

The Sky Blues also aren't in the best form of late after making a flying start to 2026 with three consecutive wins to put pressure on the likes of Espanyol and Real Betis.
A 2-1 loss to Osasuna on February 6 left Claudio Giraldez's side with just one point from their last three matches to allow Real Sociedad to close within two of them in eighth position.
Celta are looking to snap a three-game losing streak to the Parakeets, who ran out narrow 1-0 victors in the reverse fixture on November 30.

Gonzalez has challenged his players to find that competitive edge they showed in the first half of the campaign as momentum will be key to their push for Europe.
"We have to rediscover who we are. Winning in the Primera Division is tough; we have to get back to our previous level, avoid mistakes, and regain our momentum," he said.
"We will definitely bounce back. We won't allow our desire, hard work, or effort to let up. We have to get back our competitive edge."
