The Premier League has seen many players steal the limelight as teenagers since its inception in 1992.
We take a look at the five youngest goalscorers in the history of the English top-flight league.
5. Michael Owen - 17 years, 144 days
Owen was declared to be the best of a generation of young players that included Paul Scholes, David Beckham and Robbie Fowler by former England Under-18 coach Ted Powell in 1997.
Blessed with blistering pace and an eye for goal, Owen scored on his Liverpool debut against Wimbledon at Selhurst Park in May 1997 at the age of 17 years, 144 days.
The retired English striker is currently the second youngest-ever competitive goalscorer for Liverpool. He scored 118 goals in 216 appearances in the Premier League for the Reds.
"He is ready for whatever you throw at him; nothing fazes Michael Owen," Liverpool's director of Youth Steve Heighway backed Owen when speaking on Liverpool Echo in 1997.
"He's ready." I have no fears about him and if the manager wants a recommendation from me, Michael gets it."
4. Cesc Fabregas - 17 years, 114 days
In October 2003, Fabregas became Arsenal's youngest-ever first-team player, aged 16 years after featuring against Rotherham United in English League Cup clash.
Fabregas then claimed a goal against Blackburn Rovers and became Arsenal's youngest-ever goalscorer in a league game at the age of 17 years, 114 days in August 2004.
Known as an effective assist-provider, the Spanish attacking midfielder scored 35 goals in 212 Premier League matches during his time with Arsenal.

3. Wayne Rooney - 16 years, 351 days
Rooney scored a last-minute winning goal for Everton against Arsenal on the 19th October 2002 which was five days before his 17th birthday.
The goal ended Arsenal's 30-match unbeaten run and also made Rooney, who is known for his strength and finishing ability, the youngest goalscorer in Premier League history at the time.
The legendary English striker went on to score 15 goals in 67 Premier League matches for the Toffees, before he secured a big move to English football heavyweights Manchester United in 2004.
2. James Milner - 16 years, 356 days
In November 2002, Milner became the second-youngest player ever to play in the Premier League, at the age of 16 years, 309 days when he featured for Leeds United against West Ham United.
A month later Milner, who can play as a defender and midfielder, then became the youngest player to score in the Premier League, with a goal against Sunderland at the age of 16 years, 356 days.
Milner broke Ronney's record and left his childhood team for Newcastle United ahead of the 2004/05 season having netted five goals in 48 Premier League matches for Leeds.
"I played against Rooney when he was 11. He probably could have been [with Everton first team]. Actually, he did disappear for a couple of years," Milner said on Independent.
"I think he was away playing for their Under-17s and Under-19s by the time he was 14. I can't remember whether he was in midfield or up front because he seemed to be everywhere.
"He bullied people with his strength and beat them with his ability. Everyone knew, even then, that he was going to be a phenomenal player. He has just gone on and done it."
1. James Vaughan - 16 years, 271 days
Vaughan announced himself to the world when he scored for Everton against Crystal Palace in April 2005 and much was expected from the young speedy English striker.
His 73rd-minute substitute appearance for the first team against Palace on his debut included a goal which broke a three-year Premier League record.
Vaughan overtook Milner as the Premier League's youngest scorer at 16 years, 271 days.
He left Everton having netted seven goals in 47 Premier League games in 2011 and is now with EFL League One side Tranmere Rovers.
