“We looked for the win and we tried hard. We lacked forcefulness in the area, which prevented us from finishing off some of the more dangerous moves," Espanyol manager Vicente Moreno said after their defeat to Elche.
"We had a couple of chances for Raúl de Tomás which, under normal circumstances, would have ended up in a goal. When you need to score two goals to at least pull level, it's difficult. We missed out on a golden chance to get closer to those at the top, get into a good position and get away from those below us.
“The line between winning and losing is a very fine one. We helped the opposition to cross that line. If we hadn't conceded those two goals from those first two shots, we would have won the game: they are avoidable actions. We didn't do what we had in mind, but we tried with all our might."
The last meeting between Cadiz and Espanyol in a league match was on 18 October 021.
Espanyol emerged 2-0 winners over Cadiz in a match which was played at RCDE Stadium which is also known as Estadi Cornellà-El Prat.
