Leeds, England
Sunday, 4 January 2026
Kick-off is at 13h30
Leeds United will renew their rivalry with Manchester United in a high-profile Premier League match at Elland Road on 4 January.
Current Form
The Peacocks emerged as 4-1 winners over Crystal Palace in their last home match as they extended their unbeaten run to three matches in the league at Elland Road.
Leeds' three-match unbeaten run at home consists of victories over Palace and Chelsea FC, and a draw with reigning Premier League champions Liverpool FC.
United, on the other hand, suffered a 2-1 loss to Aston Villa in their last away match as their five-match unbeaten run in the league on the road came to an end.
The Red Devils' unbeaten run on the road consisted of two successive draws and three victories which came against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace and Liverpool FC.
Team News
Leeds have Daniel James, Lucas Nmecha, Joe Rodon and Sean Longstaff on their injury list, but Peacocks have no players at the ongoing 2025 AFCON.
Meanwhile, United have Harry Maguire, Matthijs de Ligt, Kobbie Mainoo, Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount on their injury list.
The Red Devils will also be without Bryan Mbeumo (Cameroon), Amad Diallo (Ivory Coast) and Noussair Mazraoui (Morocco), who are all on national duty at the 2025 AFCON.
Quotes
"We are going to improve. But that was something that [we] was talking about," United manager Ruben Amorim said.
"But then when you talk about changing the system all the time, I cannot change because the players will understand that I'm changing because of you. And I think that is the end for the manager.
"So, when we are playing well in our system, I think that is the moment to change if it's the better thing to win the next game. That is what we did today."
Head-to-Head
United claimed a 2-0 win over Leeds in their last meeting in the league, which was in April 2023 at Elland Road.
As a result, the Red Devils are undefeated in their last nine matches in the Premier League against the Peacocks, having recorded three draws and six wins.
