While the New Orleans Pelicans are rooted to the bottom of the NBA Western Conference table, the Pelicans could make it three wins on the bounce when they face Oklahoma City Thunder at the Paycom Centre on Wednesday.
The Pelicans have momentum on their side heading into their next game, particularly as they recorded wins over the Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs in each of their last two outings.
Overall, the Pelicans’ form has been up and down during the month of January, given their run off defeats against the Indiana Pacers, Houston Rockets and Detroit Pistons prior to their last set of fixtures.
Oklahoma City Thunder on the other hand, are arguably the team to beat during the current NBA campaign.
However, despite sitting at the top of the Western Conference with 37 wins, Thunder lost two of their last games as they fell behind against both the Indiana Pacers and Toronto Raptors.
Thunder last tasted victory on 22 January, where they bagged a 122-102 win against the Milwaukee Bucks at the Fiserv Forum.
Regarding their form sheet, Thunder saw out two wins and three defeats in their last five games.

Speaking ahead of Oklahoma City Thunder’s fixture against the Pelicans, Mark Daigneault has called for his side to overcome their troubles and to be more connected as a team as the season rolls on.
"There's a lot of headwinds in the NBA scheduling, injuries, refereeing, shot variance, and everybody deals with it at different times to various degrees," the Oklahoma City Thunder coach said.
"It just becomes about your ability to see those things as a challenge and attack them and if you do that then you'll emerge from that mentally tougher and more connected as a team."
