Jason Day will be eager to emulate his compatriots John Senden and Mark Hensby by winning the 2022
John Deere Classic.
Senden and Hensby remain the only Australian golfers to have won this tournament having done so in 2006 and 2004 respectively.
Day, who is a former world number one in the Official World Golf Rankings, will be hoping to become the third Australian golfer to win the event.

The Ohio-based star won his first WGC title, the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in 2014 and would win it for the second time in 2016.
With his 2016 victory, Day joined Tiger Woods and Geoff Ogilvy as the only multiple winners of the WGC Match Play as he established himself as one of the best golfers in the world.
Day went on to win his first major tournament at the 2015 PGA Championship, scoring a record 20 strokes under par and rising to number three in the world rankings.
However, the last time the 34-year-old won a PGA Tour tournament was in 2018 when he clinched the Wells Fargo Championship and he will be hoping to end his trophy drought at the TPC Deere Run.

“Yeah, I am encouraged. I think it’s a good step in the right direction,” said Day at the recent 2022 Wells Fargo Championship where he finished 15th.
“I obviously have got to give myself a pat on the back because I played some nice golf today.
"But we’ve got three more days after this and I think the main goal is to try and focus and get yourself in a position where you can win. Yeah, good positive stuff today.”
D.A Weibring and Steve Stricker are the most decorated golfers in the history of the John Deere Classic having won it a record three times each.
