Jon Rahm will be among the favourites to win the Genesis Scottish Open when he tees off at the Renaissance Club.

Currently ranked third on the Official World Golf Rankings, the Spanish star is the second-highest ranked player at this year's Scottish Open after world number one Scottie Scheffler.

Rahm has won 14 professional tournaments including seven PGA Tour events, but he has tasted success once this year when he clinched the 2022 Mexico Open two months ago.

The 27-year-old will be looking to go alone at the top of the list of Rolex Series winners when he makes his second appearance at Scottish Open after last season's top ten.

A two-time winner of the Irish Open and DP World Tour Championship, Dubai, Rahm also won his own country's open twice.

The talented golfer then won his first Major at last season's US Open Championship and has had his own spell at the top of the Official World Golf Rankings.

The man known as Rahmbo to his fans couldn't retain his US Open Championship trophy last month as he finished 12th with Matt Fitzpatrick clinching the title.

“I’m looking forward to coming back to Renaissance Club for the Genesis Scottish Open this summer and the start of an exciting two weeks in Scotland," Rahmbo said.

"I’ve had success in Rolex Series events in the past and adding another win would be the perfect way to go into The Open in St Andrews the following week.

"I know this is an event with a long history and it’s great to see it become part of both the PGA Tour and DP World Tour this season.”

Ian Woosnam is the most decorated golfer in the history of the Scottish Open having won it a record three times.
