Norway will be looking to make it four wins from four at
Euro 2025 when they take on Italy in the quarter-finals at the Stade de Geneve on Wednesday, July 16.
The 1987 and 1993 champions are just one of four teams to have won their opening three matches in Switzerland as they topped Group A with nine points.
Gemma Grainger's side began their campaign with a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over the hosts and they beat Iceland 2-0 before coming out on top in a seven-goal thriller against Iceland (4-3).
The Nordic nation, who bowed out at the group stages in 2017 and 2022, have a good record against Italy, winning eight of their 13 encounters and losing just twice.
The Blues booked their place in the knockout stages as runners-up in Group B with a record of one win, one draw and one loss.
Andrea Soncin's side edged Belgium 1-0 first up and played out to a 1-1 draw with Portugal, but saw their unbeaten record come to an end at the hands of Spain following a 3-1 defeat.
The Italians have yet to conquer Europe, although they did reach the final in 1993 and 1997, losing to Norway and Germany respectively.
Signe Gaupset made her first start for her country against Our Girls and didn't disappoint, scoring a first-half brace to be named Player of the Match which earned her praise from Grainger.
"She takes her opportunities. Tonight it's so nice to see her step on to the pitch and express herself," Grainger said.
"I see her do that every week in her club [Brann], I've seen her do it in the Women's Champions League, and now I've seen her do it here."
Soncin was pleased with the performance of his players in the first half against La Roja, but felt they became complacent after hearing the scoreline between Portugal and Belgium, who led as early as the third minute and ran out 2-1 victors.
"The first half was of the highest level, in the second we perhaps played with more focus on Portugal-Belgium in Sion than on our own," Soncin said.
"We came to play against Spain, the world champions, and we managed to do so for one half."
