Rory McIlroy will be determined to win the
Travelers Championship for the first time in his illustrious career.
The Northern Irish icon is among the favourites to win the event having already won two tournaments in the current 2021-22 PGA Tour season.
McIlroy, who is currently ranked second on the Official World Golf Rankings, won the CJ Open in October last year, before clinching the RBC Canadian Open on June 12.

The three-time European Tour Golfer of the Year won the CJ Cup by one stroke and became only the sixth player to reach 20 wins on the PGA Tour before their 33rd birthday since 1960.
McIlroy overcame a 9-shot deficit prior to beginning the final two rounds, but a 62–66 on the last two days saw him win by one over Collin Morikawa.
The Florida-based golfer successfully defended his title at the RBC Canadian Open, shooting a final-round 62 to win by two shots ahead of Tony Finau over a week ago.
Nicknamed Rors, McIlroy is coming into the Travellers Championship having finished fifth at the recent US Open having won the golf major in 2011.

“This is a day I’ll remember for a long, long time,“ McIlroy said soon after winning the 2022 RBC Canadian Open.
“Twenty-one PGA Tour wins, one more than somebody else. I had the extra motivation of what was going on across the pond.
"The guy that’s spearheading that tour has 20 wins on the PGA Tour and I was tied with him and I wanted to get one ahead of him and I did. So, that was really cool for me, just a little sense of pride on that one.”
Billy Casper is the most decorated golfer in the history of the Travelers Championship having won it a record four times in 1963, 1965, 1968 and 1973.
