Austria will take on France in the UEFA Euro 2024 Group D match at the Düsseldorf Arena on 17 June.

Current Form

Austria played to a 1-1 draw with Switzerland on 8 June as they stretched their unbeaten run to seven matches across all competitions.

However, Unsere Burschen lost two of their last three matches in the UEFA Euro finals while the other game ended in victory over Ukraine.

On the other hand, France were held to a 0-0 draw by Canada on 9 June as they extended their unbeaten run to three matches across all competitions.

However, Les Bleus are winless in their last three matches in the UEFA Euro finals having registered two successive draws and one defeat.

Team News

Austria will be without one of their key players at UEFA Euro 2024 as team captain David Alaba will be absent due to a long-term injury.

Meanwhile, France defender Lucas Hernandez will also miss the tournament after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee.

Quotes

"If you take the last Euro as an example, we had a premature exit. When you win, everything is perfect," France coach Didier Deschamps said ahead of their clash with Austria.

"But when you lose, the details that don't matter always take focus. At a very high international level, winning is very difficult and maintaining it is even more difficult, because only one team wins and then the others don't sleep.

"What keeps me going is the passion, the desire and the determination. What interests me is always having new objectives."

Head-to-Head

Austria and France have met 25 times across all competitions. Les Bleus have won 13 games compared to Unsere Burschen's nine wins while three matches ended in a draw.

The last meeting between the two teams ended in a 2-0 win in favour of France in the UEFA Nations League on 22 September 2022.
